From both the religious and non-theistic perspective though, you can’t argue in favor of the “privileged earth/universe” debate. If you do so religiously, you prove this man’s point and deny the bad in favor of the good which is unreasonable and therefore not a sound argument. However, science by it’s nature says that it cannot make the assumption that our universe was “specially created” to host human life, because science cannot constitute, support or claim that our world, our galaxy and the universe that houses it was made specially just for us. This is the miraculous nature of evolution - it was something no one took notion of until (not even) two centuries ago, yet because of this we have been able to find the origin of not just human life on earth, but our ENTIRE. FUCKING. UNIVERSE. Without assuming that it was all put into plan by some divine or otherworldly force. And THAT, tumblr, is the marvelous nature of our existence.
